Posted in News on 31st July 2009

At the annual general meeting of the Gorsedh Kernow, held in June, members voted overwhelmingly to adopt the Standard Written Form.

Grand Bard, Vanessa Beeman, said that the decision had been made “primarily in the interest of making sure that the SWF is successful and that we continue to get official backing for the language as a result, ensuring that our children who wish to learn Cornish will have that opportunity.”

The Gorsedh comprises bards who use all the different forms of Cornish, and the SWF is acting as a bridge to bring everyone closer together.
